The Executive Director's Challenge

On Tuesday, May 27, 2003 Myrta officially completed her 822 kilometer walk along the Camino de Santiago. Staff and supporters or the K-W Multicultural Centre are all so proud of her and so grateful for her hard work. What an amazing accomplishment.

The Challenge

• To walk the 822 Kilometer, 1,200 year-old Camino de Santiago in May, 2003
• To achieve 82.2% sponsoring contributions from clients and partner agencies
• To demonstrate my own belief in the goals of the campaign and in the mandate of our organization.

Why walk to Santiago?

For 12 centuries Santiago has been the goal of pilgrims, saints, sinners, scholars, musicians, and ordinary people from every corner of the world. Originally, Santiago was seen as a war-like figure who encouraged ethnic, religious and linguistic divisions. In the past century Santiago has become the goal for those who believe in peace, international understanding, and intercultural dialogue.
