Eat well and visit our local heroes.
Who are these local heroes? They are the volunteers who prepare, cook and provide you with the tasty treats of their homelands. They are the festival’s food vendors who re-distribute the majority of the funds they raise throughout the festival back into the community. They’re the ones cooking over rows of hot barbeques and smiling.
In the past these local heroes have helped purchase a defibrillator for the Fire Department, supported cancer research and donated time, money and provisions during the Walkerton Crisis. Internationally, they’ve sent clothing to needy children and provided much need education funds. Their good work in our local and global community is outstanding and has been for years. We are a healthier, stronger community because of their unrecognized and relentless generosity.
Over the years festival attendees have sampled food from Greece, Latin America, Germany, Poland, Ethiopia, Bosnia, the Philippines, India, Arabia, China, Jamaica and many other countries.
