Job Search

As part of our Settlement services we provide help writing resumes and / or cover letters, advice about job search techniques, filling out application forms and referrals to employment services. Our Settlement worker will assist anyone who has an employment need, whether it is with a resume, more in-depth career counselling, or referral to an appropriate community program. Job Search Workshop

"JSW" is a job search workshop offered to new Canadians who have been in Canada for five years or less. The participants learn about basic job search terminology, job options in Canada, current labour market situation, how to make the right career choice for the individual and how to effectively communicate with employers. It is a three-day group-based program (9:00 am to 4:00 pm) conducted every other week. Since launching the program, JSW has seen a success rate of 77%.
